I’ve been a doula, an activist, an advocate, and a teacher.Today, I focus on one thing: helping founders, creatives, and organizations protect their intellectual property.As the founder of a nonprofit organization that I scaled and raised millions of dollars for, I eventually found myself at an intellectual property crossroads:
Who actually owned the IP—the brand, logo, domain, program frameworks, and systems that made the organization valuable in the first place?Like many young creatives driven by purpose, I underestimated the importance of protecting my intellectual assets early on. What I didn’t understand then, I understand deeply now: intellectual property is the foundation of power, control, and sustainability.Before it was too late, I took action. I registered my original program models and policies with the U.S. Copyright Office and claimed my trade name with the Secretary of State. I never imagined I would have to enforce those rights—but when the moment came, I did. Because my work was registered, I was able to file a federal copyright infringement lawsuit to protect what I created.That experience changed everything.Today, I help founders and creatives understand, protect, and structure their intellectual property from a place of lived experience—not theory.
